Let the kids have a night out! Join us each month as we learn about a new topic, meet live animals, play games and do a craft. We'll have pizza for dinner and round the night out with s'mores around the campfire (or fireplace). Please dress for time outside and bring a flashlight.

Winter Birds

Look thru binoculars as we search for our winter friends such as cardinals, chickadees, juncos and many more. Play bird identification games and make a special bird feeder to bring home. Dress to spend lots of time outside! ( bring a lunch)

Snowflake Surprise

Look at snow and ice under microscopes to see its complexity and beauty. Learn how and why snow falls and have a chance to create your own 6 sided snowflakes. Dress to spend lots of time outside! ( bring a lunch)

Homeschool - Animal Kingdom

Join us as each month we explore the Animal Kingdom. From snails and snakes to beavers and birds we will take an in-depth look at the animals that are local to Southern New England. We will learn the seasonal habitat preferences, natural history and conservation status of different animals through discussion, meeting live animals, games, activities and fieldtrips. With the exception of September, programs will be held the first Thursday of the month from 1:30-3:30. After enrollment is complete children are grouped according to ages. Please keep in mind that Nature Center programs are taught from a scientific perspective. While these classes are run as a drop-off program, parents are welcome to stay for part or all of the classes, however please check with us about accommodating younger siblings in the classroom.
